The challenge

Handwoven shawls are often sold on the weaver’s story alone. Bunara needed a brand that carried the craft with pride, and a business model that could work direct to the customer, not through a catalogue.

The approach

  1. 01

    Research before identity

A full market toolkit first: competitors, suppliers, platform fees and compliance, so every later decision had numbers behind it.

  2. 02

    A name with roots

A bold Devanagari wordmark with an English line in a culturally proud register, set in three colourways: Parchment Cream, Dark Charcoal and Terracotta Rust.

  3. 03

    The business underneath

A launch blueprint covering sourcing, range, unit economics and the first 90 days, with tiered quantity pricing negotiated with suppliers.

  4. 04

    Marketing built around occasions

The social presence was audited against the brand book and rebuilt around the moments people actually buy a shawl for.

What we built

  • Market research toolkit
  • Direct-to-consumer launch blueprint
  • Logo and identity system
  • Brand book
  • Instagram audit and rebuild
  • Supplier pricing negotiation
  • Two-month launch plan

Outcome

A finished brand book, identity and launch plan, with sourcing and social built to match.
